Wateright incorporates a an established procedure to estimate when to irrigate and how much water to apply. Based on CIMIS weather station data the Modified Penmen equation to estimate ETo. This value is multiplied by appropriate crop factor to produce an estimate of the crop water requirements(ETc).

To correctly irrigate and replenish water lost through crop water use,  Wateright takes into account the design or uniformity of your irrigation system. Wateright uses a series of estimates to cerat an irrigation schedule. Field moisture levels must be verified by the grower.

The use of a weather bsed irrigation predicts model can be an important tool in water management. Knowledge of the soil moisture within the active root zone, measuring applied water through the use of wateright and observing the crop health are all critical to maximizing our water resources.
